All family members, faculty, staff,
students and community advocates are
encouraged to become members of AHS
PTSA to engage in, and participate
in, the life of the school, feel a
connection to the school, and to be
empowered with the knowledge of what
students are learning and doing in
class.
All
members are encouraged to be
advocates for their own and other
children, to ensure that students
are treated fairly and have access
to learning opportunities that will
support their success.
RESEARCH FINDINGS:
-
When
parents are involved, students
achieve more, regardless of
socio-economic status,
ethnic/racial background, or the
parents' education level.
-
When parents are
involved in their students'
education, those students have
higher grades and test scores,
better attendance, and complete
homework more consistently.
